Augsburg face Bayern Munich at the WWK Arena on Saturday, Oct. 29. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
If you’re wondering how this game will play out, it’s probably worth taking a look at Wednesday’s DGB Pokal second round match between the same teams. Bayern won that one by a score of 3-1. Philipp Lahm gave Carlo Ancelotti’s side the lead after only two minutes, before American forward Julian Green doubled their advantage. Augsburg drew one back through Dong-Won Ji, but David Alaba put the tie to bed in the 90th minute.
It’s unlikely Saturday’s Bundesliga matchup will end in a different result, especially with several of Bayern’s stars, including Robert Lewnadowski, expected to return to the starting lineup. Bayern have already established a commanding lead in the league. They lead high-flying RB Leipzig by only two points, but perhaps more importantly the team many thought would be their closest rival, Borussia Dortmund, are six points back in sixth place. Augsburg, meanwhile, are down in 12th place on eight points. Their seven goals is tied for third worst in the league, which doesn’t bode well against the league’s best defense.

It’s hard to see past a Bayern Munich victory here. The defending champions simply have too much fire power. Having said that, playing the same opponent twice in four days could make for some strange happenings. Or, you know, not.
