The Alabama Crimson Tide are so good at football that apparently they have Jacob Eason playing quarterback for them. Or at least, that’s what CBS thinks…

Jacob Eason is the promising true freshman quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs. His team is in a rebuilding season, but it is easy to see why he was a five-star recruit coming out of Lake Stevens, Washington. He has arguably the best arm of a pro-style passer in the college game since Matthew Stafford slung the pigskin in the SEC for Georgia from 2006 to 2008.

Georgia is playing its annual rivalry game with the Florida Gators down in Jacksonville on Saturday. CBS has the telecast, as it does with every SEC Game of the Week. It’s a solid production every week, but CBS might have made a mistake on Saturday. Since when does Eason play quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide?

Voice of the Atlanta Falcons Wes Durham pointed out CBS’ error on Twitter. He has worked in the ACC covering Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets games before, so it’s no surprise he’d point out this slight against Georgia.

CBS is understandably infatuated with Alabama. Why would it be? The Crimson Tide are just better than everybody else in the SEC. Alabama has carried their Saturday mid-afternoon telecasts for years.

Alabama is on its bye week before a huge rivalry game against the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge in Week 10. The Crimson Tide have their own special true freshman signal caller in Jalen Hurts, but it seems that they now have Eason in the fold.

So…which quarterback on the Alabama roster is going to transfer at season’s end? Blake Barnett has already skipped town after Hurts took his job. Does that mean we’ve seen the last of Cooper Bateman or David Cornwell in Tuscaloosa?
