Texas Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong was emotional after his team’s win over the No. 8 Baylor Bears on Saturday.
Charlie Strong hasn’t had the easiest of tenures with the Texas Longhorns. His teams have been inconsistent and he’s been on the perpetual hot seat throughout his stay. Needing a win in the worst way over No. 8 Baylor at home on Saturday, Texas came back to win an emotional game and pull off the upset in Austin.
After the game, Strong showed a lot of emotion in his interview on the field. He was proud of the way that his team competed on both sides of the ball and the awareness of his situation had overtaken him.
Despite the fact that he might not be long for the job in Austin, Strong is a guy that everyone respects and his players love him. He really coached them up this week and the game plan against a great Baylor offense was fantastic.
Getting a win like this over the Bears could go a long way in potentially helping Strong keep his job down the line. After everything he has been through, it was great to see his players come through for him.
