Chicago Cubs outfielder Dexter Fowler turned Andrew Miller human and hit a home run as his team trailed big time.
Game 4 of the World Series was not a good night for the Chicago Cubs. After the Indians took a 7-1 lead late in the game, their was a chill in the air that had nothing to do with the weather. While everyone could do nothing but watch the Indians take command of the series, Dexter Fowler went down swinging.
As Andrew Miller faced Fowler, the Cubs’ outfielder was able to hit a solo shot for a home run and to cut the deficit. Prior to the home run, Miller had been unstoppable in the playoffs. No one had been able to hit him and he was simply impeccable.
While the home run by Fowler was a blemish on his postseason resume, he got out of the inning and still looked fantastic. The home run by Fowler might have normally been bigger news, but the fact the team trailed by so much didn’t give it as much of an impact.
However, it does give everyone something to keep an eye out for in Game 5. Should the game be close and Miller faces off against Fowler, he’s going to have to be very careful about the pitch selection that he uses.
