These two SEC East teams absolutely hate each other. They hate each other so much, they have to play their annual football rivalry at neutral-site Jacksonville. That’s right. The Florida-Georgia/Georgia-Florida rivalry is in full effect this weekend.
Kickoff from EverBank Stadium will be at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday, October 29th. It is obviously the CBS SEC Game of the Week as this rivalry always is, and the live stream can be found on CBSSports.com.
Georgia is 4-3 (1-3) on the season under first-year head coach Kirby Smart. The Bulldogs have lost three of its last four games and have to start playing better to ensure its place as a bowl-eligible team. Having a bye week to prepare for arch rival Florida probably helps after a bad loss at home two weeks ago to SEC East rival Vanderbilt.
Florida is 5-1 (3-1) on the year and have a realistic shot at winning the SEC East. If the Gators win the East and upend presumably the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship, Florida could make the College Football Playoff. The Gators are a better team with Luke Del Rio at quarterback. Coming off a bye, Florida looks poised to battle with major rival Georgia in Jacksonville.
