The Michigan Wolverines’ Mr. Everything Jabrill Peppers was praised by his idol Reggie Bush on Twitter after Michigan’s win over Michigan State.

Jabrill Peppers does a little bit of everything for the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines. He plays great in the Michigan defensive backfield, he returns kicks, and he is now part of the running back tandem for head coach Jim Harbaugh.

After Michigan defeated the reeling in-state rival Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing 32-23 on Saturday afternoon in Week 9, a big fan of Peppers’ play reached out to him on Twitter. It just so happened to be former USC Trojans tailback and current Buffalo Bills running back Reggie Bush. Peppers apparently worships Bush. Here is their Twitter exchange.

Bush starred for Pete Carroll’s Trojans a little over a decade ago. He won the 2005 Heisman Trophy, but later had to vacate it for impermissible benefits. Bush has bounced around the NFL ever since, but his impact in the college game is still undeniable.

Peppers may not end up winning the 2016 Heisman Trophy, but he’s the Wolverines’ best shot at it since former defensive back Charles Woodson won it in 1997. Entering Week 10, Peppers has to be the runner-up to clear front-runner Louisville Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson has more of an opportunity to pad his stats while starring at the quarterback position for head coach Bobby Petrino. Peppers doesn’t get as many looks, but his Wolverines have to be the favorite to win the 2016 Big Ten Championship this December.

If Michigan keeps on winning, it’s almost a certainty that Peppers will make it to New York City for the 2016 Heisman Trophy presentation. By getting the respect of a former winner in Bush, maybe Peppers has more of a chance than we think to win the award?
