The No. 7 Nebraska Cornhuskers are the third Top 10 to fall in Week 9. How does this impact the AP Top 25 Poll in Week 10? Here is what it could look like.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are the third team in the Top 10 of the AP Top 25 to fall in Week 9. They are also the fourth formerly undefeated team in Division I to get their first blemish of 2016.

Nebraska fell on the road to the Big Ten West rival Wisconsin Badgers in overtime at Camp Randall, 23-17. With the Baylor Bears and the West Virginia Mountaineers also floundering in the Top 10, here is a look at what could look like entering Week 10.

  1. Alabama Crimson Tide
  2. Michigan Wolverines
  3. Clemson Tigers
  4. Washington Huskies
  5. Louisville Cardinals
  6. Ohio State Buckeyes
  7. Texas A&M Aggies
  8. Wisconsin Badgers
  9. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  10. Florida Gators

Alabama stays at No. 1 on its bye week. Until the Crimson Tide lose, they have earned the right to be the No. 1 team in perpetuity. Michigan flexed its muscles against the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday afternoon. They stay at No. 2, but are the closest challenger to taking the top spot from Alabama.

Should Clemson hold on against the No. 12 Florida State Seminoles, the Tigers will stay at No. 3. Winning on the road in a night game in Tallahassee is very impressive. Washington stays at No. 4 after besting the No. 17 Utah Utes in Salt Lake City. The Huskies are very close to overtaking the Tigers for the No. 3 spot.

At No. 5 is the best one-loss team in the nation in Louisville. It wasn’t easy for the Cardinals to beat the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville, but Lamar Jackson is one special player for Louisville. Ohio State hangs on to beat the Northwestern Wildcats to stay at No. 6.

Moving up to No. 7 after Nebraska’s loss is Texas A&M. The Aggies crushed the New Mexico State Aggies. That doesn’t really matter, but Gig ‘Em Nation’s only loss is to Alabama. No. 7 feels right for Texas A&M.

At No. 8 is the best two-loss team in the nation in Wisconsin. By beating the Cornhuskers in overtime, the Badgers will be able to leapfrog their Big Ten West rival in the standings. Nebraska doesn’t fall too far. The Cornhuskers stick at No. 9.

Coming in at No. 10 is Florida. The Gators edge out teams like the Baylor Bears, the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Boise State Broncos, and the Auburn Tigers.
