Kentucky Wildcats running back Stanley Williams scorches the SEC East rival Missouri Tigers on this impressive 60-yard touchdown run on Saturday.

The Kentucky Wildcats haven’t been to a holiday season bowl in years. However, 2016 feels different for this SEC East football team. Kentucky is 4-3 on the season and have a great opportunity to move to 5-3 on the year by beating their SEC East rival Missouri Tigers in Columbia on Saturday.

Things are off to a great start for the Wildcats, as running back Stanley Williams goes “Boom!” against the bewildered Tigers’ defense on this impressive 60-yard touchdown scamper.

Kentucky is probably going to have to go 4-4 in SEC play to reach a holiday season bowl at 6-6. The Wildcats lost an odd one in Week 1 to the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Kentucky also has to face the in-state rival Louisville Cardinals at the end of the season.

Fortunately for the Wildcats, they already have three SEC victories on the year over the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Vanderbilt Commodores, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. After the Missouri game, Kentucky has just the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers on the SEC slate.

If Kentucky beats Missouri and knocks off the Austin Peay Governors, Big Blue Nation will go bowling. The offense has been keying the Wildcats’ solid 2016 NCAA season. This is head coach Mark Stoops’ fourth year in Lexington. Getting to a bowl seems necessary for him to get a fifth year.

As odd as it sounds, there is even a chance that the Wildcats can win the SEC East for the first time in school history. They’ll need Florida to lose twice and win their next three SEC games. Kentucky is one of three schools in the SEC East that can win the division at 6-2 this season.
