Wisconsin became the latest team to pay tribute to the late Nebraska punter Sam Foltz.
Wisconsin and Nebraska are two of the Big Ten’s top teams, and have plenty on the line for where they are at this point in the season. However, they showed a great deal of respect for each other on Saturday.
In July, Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler tragically passed away in a one-car accident. They were coming back from a kicking camp.
Throughout the 2016 season, teams have been honoring the late Nebraska player. Earlier in October, Illinois paid tribute by personalizing a jersey of theirs with Foltz’s name on the back. Every player signed it too. It was a touching thing for the football team to do to honor the Cornhusker.
On Saturday afternoon, Wisconsin would play Nebraska. The Badgers would follow other schools and present their own tribute for Foltz. Badgers kicker Rafael Gaglianone would walk out with Nebraska as they held the Foltz jersey, which they lay on their bench for every game. The video below also shows Gaglianone shaking hands with the Nebraska players before walking out.
This is yet another great tribute to the fallen punter. More teams will likely follow suit as the season continues.

Nebraska has thrived throughout the 2016 season, and will look to channel more intensity and emotion to knock off the No. 11 Badgers. They have been winning in honor of the late Sam Foltz, and may continue to do so on Saturday. If the Cornhuskers can beat Wisconsin, they should be able to move into the top ten and continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the conference.
