The improving Kansas City Chiefs take on the Indianapolis Colts for the first time since their memorable playoff meeting in 2013.

Is Andy Reid’s team ready to embark on another long winning streak? Last year, the Chiefs opened 1-5 but then ran the table and reached the playoffs as a wild card. Three Stars

1. Andrew Luck

He comes off a solid performance in last Sunday’s see-saw victory over the Tennessee Titans. Luck threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-26 triumph and played turnover-free football in the process. On the season he’s completed 64.9 percent of his throw for 14 scores and just four interceptions. And he faces a Kansas City defense that has just eight sacks in six contests.

2. Spencer Ware

With Jamaal Charles out for this contest, expect an even bigger role for the versatile running back. He currently ranks fifth in the NFL with 777 total yards from scrimmage, including 492 yards on the ground. He will give the Colts’ 25th-ranked run defense a lot to think about.

3. T.Y. Hilton

Will the Chiefs but ball-hawking cornerback Marcus Peters (NFL-high 5 interceptions this season) on the speedy wideout? Remember how the Pittsburgh Steelers challenged the Kansas City secondary deep and prevailed? Hilton has pulled down 45 catches for 689 yards and four touchdowns this season, averaging a brisk 15.3 yards per reception.

Next Week

The Chiefs return home to face the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars, who were crushed at Tennessee on Thursday night. The Colts have their third meeting with an NFC North squad this season when they travel to Lambeau Field to square off with the Green Bay Packers.
