It’s been a tough year for Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, but he still provided a highlight touchdown run on Saturday night against Arizona.

While the Christian McCaffrey-for-Heisman hype train died weeks ago, the Stanford running back has still provided some thrilling moments in 2016.

McCaffrey appears to be fully recovered from a recent injury, as he ran past the Arizona Wildcats’ defense for a 45-yard touchdown to open the scoring on Saturday night early in the second quarter in the desert.

"There he goes! Christian McCaffrey gets loose in Tucson. https://t.co/wVRR1OJO48— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) October 30, 2016"

After setting the record for all-purpose yards and finishing second in the Heisman voting last season, McCaffrey has just 792 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns this year. Early season games against Kansas State, USC and UCLA went well enough, but McCaffrey was beat up by the Washington schools and missed the October 15 game against Notre Dame.

Overall, McCaffrey had not found the end zone since the second game of the season against the Trojans. Strangely enough, Yahoo’s Dr. Saturday mentions that is McCaffrey’s first ever rushing touchdown in a true road game.

That’s pretty odd, considering McCaffrey has 22 total touchdowns for his career. McCaffrey has since added his second rushing touchdown in a road game on an 18-yard scamper later on in the second quarter to put the Cardinal up 14-0.

It’s been a very disappointing season for Stanford, which is 4-3 overall after being ranked in the top ten earlier in the season before beating beaten down by the Huskies. Hopefully McCaffrey can provide some thrills down the stretch, as he is one of the most fun players to watch in the entire nation.
