Week 9 of the college football season is over and it’s time to project what the College Football Playoff would look like at this time.

From top to bottom, this might have been the best week of college football yet. Several games came down to the wire and there were thrilling finishes with playoff implications on the line. At the end of the day, two teams currently slated for the College Football Playoff were able to survive and impressed a lot of people.

The first official College Football Playoff ranking doesn’t come out until next week, but after nine weeks it’s pretty easy to get a good idea of who the top four teams will be. Alabama maintains their current spot at the top with a bye week. The Michigan Wolverines took care of business on the road at Michigan State, while Clemson and Washington survived huge road tests.

If these teams are able to win out, then they will be the four teams in the College Football Playoff. With the Big 12 effectively eliminating themselves this week, these teams have a huge advantage over everyone else.

However, history indicates that one of these teams if not more is going to fall before they make it all the way. With Week 10 around the corner, things are starting to get very interesting.
