Washington State receiver Gabe Marks made an unbelievably touchdown catch, beating two Oregon State defenders on a jump ball in the end zone
Despite looking like the far better team coming into their Week 9 college football matchup with the Oregon State Beavers, the Washington State Cougars found themselves trailing big at halftime in Corvallis. However, quarterback Luke Falk and star wideout Gabe Marks are one of the most formidable duos in the nation. Subsequently, it’s never over with the offensive firepower they can produce. And man, did they ever show that in the third quarter.
After already cutting the lead to 24-14 with a touchdown early in the third quarter, Falk and Wazzu were driving once again. Oregon State then elected to bring minimal pressure, but Falk seemingly couldn’t find anyone open downfield. After buying time, he realized he was about to get lit up. That’s when he uncorked a rocket to Gabe Marks in the front of the end zone.
Frankly, the throw was ill-advised. Marks was covered by two Oregon State players with another coming. However, it doesn’t matter when you have a receiver with that kind of size and skill. Marks rose up over top the two defenders and came down with the marvelous touchdown catch:
Marks had absolutely no business even being able to make a play on that. Not only did he get to the ball, though, he had the wherewithal to come down with it for six points.

That and the ensuing extra-point brought the score to 24-21 in favor of the Beavers. However, Marks and Falk connected once again on the Cougars next drive, giving them the lead on the road. Needless to say, a catch like that one by Marks is a good way to go about changing the momentum in a game.
