Lions at Texans: Highlights, score, and recap
The inconsistent Houston Texans play host to the revitalized Detroit Lions, who have been led by red-hot quarterback Matthew Stafford.
It’s an intriguing matchup of 4-3 teams as the Houston Texans host the NFL high-wire act known as the Detroit Lions.
All seven games that Jim Caldwell’s team has played in this season have been decided by seven points or less. The club’s four victories have come by a total of 11 points. Coincidentally, all three of their losses have come by a total of 11 points. In other words, these Lions have scored exactly as much as they’ve allowed.
But will they be allowed to escape Houston with a win? Despite their problems, Bill O’Brien’s team is a perfect 4-0 at home this season.

Three Stars
1. Matthew Stafford
He’s has been pretty damn good as of late. All seven of the Lions’ games this season have been decided by seven points or less and Stafford has come up with his share of fourth-quarter heroics. This season, he’s completing 68 percent of his passes for 1,914 yards and 15 scores. But he’s been picked off just four times and lost only one fumbles, despite the fact he’s been sacked on 18 occasions.
2. Lamar Miller
He missed a little time on Monday night at Denver when he took a hit to the shoulder but returned to the game and appeared to be in fine form. Miller wanted a big workload with his new team and has gotten it, totaling 136 rushing attempts for 581 yards and one touchdown. He’s also caught 20 passes for 117 yards and one score. Detroit’s defense will have its hands full on Sunday.
3. Anquan Boldin
While Marvin Jones has emerged as Detroit’s leading pass-catcher and deep threat, the ageless Boldin just keeps getting the job done. A late offseason pickup, he ranks second on the team with 32 catches for just 272 yards. But he not only helps the offense move the chains, he’s tied for the team lead with four total touchdowns. In his 14th season, Boldin now ranks 11th in NFL history with 1,041 career catches.
