A look at how to watch Sunday’s game between the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets.

The Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets have both come into this season with new looks. They had failed playoff runs in 2015-16, and are looking to make a statement in the Western Conference. Houston subtracted Dwight Howard and added players like Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon. Dallas most notably signed Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut, but lost Chandler Parsons.

So far, the Maverickss are 0-2, while the Rockets are 1-1. Their most recent games actually came against each other. This saw Houston win, 106-98 behind 26 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds out of James Harden. Head coach Mike D’Antoni is using him as a point guard for the first time, and so far, the results look good. The previous game saw Harden have 34 points and 17 assists.

Clint Capela has also been an intriguing player for Houston early on. He is seeing the court more with Howard out of town, and is showing improvement in his rebounding total already. The Swissman pulled in nine rebounds in each of the first two games as this team’s primary center. For now, he’s starting over Nene, who had 19 minutes compared to his 25.

Barnes had a whopping 31 points on 23 shots for the Mavs. This came without Dirk Nowitzki, who had been dealing with an illness. At age 38, the German-born star may not be the primary scorer anymore and could give way to the former Warriors star as the season progresses. He could return Sunday night, so we’ll see how the scoring is divvied up.
