Carolina Panthers fearless linebacker Thomas Davis plays heads up football by grabbing Carson Palmer’s fumble for an easy scoop and score for the Panthers.

The Carolina Panthers were 1-5 coming off their bye in Week 7. They needed to show up in Week 8 at home against the Arizona Cardinals to salvage their season. Carolina got a big boost early from veteran linebacker Thomas Davis.

Davis was in the right place at the right time to recover a fumble from Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer. Palmer was hit while he was trying to throw a shovel pass. It failed miserably and Davis took it to the house for the easy defensive paydirt for Carolina.

After the Graham Gano made PAT, Carolina would lead the Cardinals, 7-0, early in Week 8. Arizona is coming off an awkward bye against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7. Needless to say, there was a good chance that Arizona might be a bit tired in this game with the Panthers.

Let’s not forget that this is a rematch of the 2015 NFC Championship Game. Though neither of these teams are world-beaters this season, Carolina crushed Arizona last January and looks to do the same on Sunday.

Carolina has its issues defensively, but does have several outstanding linebackers in Davis, Luke Kuechly, and Shaq Thompson. If the Panthers can get a pass rush against a tired Cardinals offensive line, this could be a long afternoon for Arizona in Charlotte. The Panthers need a win to stay alive in the NFC South.
