After blowing a 3-1 NBA Finals lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers a few months ago, all-star Draymond Green is chopping at the bit to get revenge.

All summer long, the Golden State Warriors couldn’t go anywhere without hearing the trending numbers: three and one. With former MVP and four-time scoring champion Kevin Durant in the Bay Area, the expectation is championship or bust. However, this would’ve been the expectation even without Durant’s services.

Many believe if Draymond Green wasn’t suspended for Game 5 that Golden State would’ve repeated as NBA champions and we would be talking about a potential three-peat right now. However, that’s not the case and it’s eating Green alive, to say the least.

While many are anticipating a Cavs-Warriors part III next June, Green realizes his team must worry about getting through the Western Conference first, specifically San Antonio. You know, the team that embarrassed Golden State 129-100 less than a week ago inside Oracle Arena. Nonetheless, if part III does happen, Green made it clear to NBA.com’s David Aldridge on how he would approach it from a mental standpoint.

"“That’s got to be our only focus, to win the Western Conference,” Green said. “And then, if Cleveland comes out of the east, I want to destroy Cleveland. No ifs, ands and buts about it. But I also know that there’s steps to get to that point. And if and when we get to that point, I want to annihilate them.”"

Just in case that message wasn’t clear enough, Green reiterated for you.

"“I want to completely destroy them. No ifs, ands or buts about it. That won’t change. I’m not saying we’re going to look forward to that. Like I said, there’s a long road ahead. And it’ll be a tough, tough road to get there. Nonetheless, if we get there, and they get there, I want to destroy them. Really ain’t no other way to put it.”"

If we end up being blessed with a part III, I believe it’s safe to say it will be the most televised NBA Finals ever.
