Throughout the entire summer, the Golden State Warriors have been exposed to ‘3-1’ jokes, and apparently, the jokes are still flying, even from LeBron James himself.

In terms of sports, the city of Cleveland has never been this electric. Not only did the Cavaliers end the city’s 52-year championship drought, the Indians are one win away from winning the World Series for the first time since 1948, which was 68 years ago.

Yes — 68!

As the Cavs look to repeat, they’re off to a quick (3-0) start and LeBron James is virtually in cruise control. However, most players would love to average 21 points, 10 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. It just goes to show you how high LeBron has set the bar.

With today being Halloween, the Cavs celebrated in great fashion, as LeBron held a costume party over the weekend. Upon entering his domain, you were greeted with a pole at the Warriors for blowing a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

Something tells me Golden State didn’t need any extra motivation heading into this season, but LeBron just gave it to them anyway. It’s one thing when fans and media members alike poke fun at you, but when the person that actually beats you reminds you of it, it strikes a certain nerve.

As a competitor myself, this is something I would take a bit personally if I’m a member of the Warriors squad. Also, even though we know LeBron is referring to Golden State, Kevin Durant could even use this as motivation since he was a part of blowing a 3-1 lead himself against his current team in the Western Conference Finals.

All in all, LeBron is clearly very proud of this accomplishment because not only did he fulfill his promise to his hometown, he placed himself back in the GOAT discussion. Clearly he needs more rings to be considered better than the ‘ghost’, but he’s only 31.
