Taking a look at the NBA League Pass games of the week for Oct. 31-Nov. 6
After waiting for over four months, the 2016-17 NBA regular season is here in all it’s glory. It took roughly three hours for things to get weird, namely with the Golden State Warriors getting blown out on NBA Opening Night. However, the Warriors have looked much better since and things seem to be normalizing. As that happens, though, choosing wisely on NBA League Pass becomes all the more pivotal.
There’s an art to firing up a game on NBA League Pass. If the Warriors or Cleveland Cavaliers are playing a cupcake, that game might have name value, but not really be worth watching. They’re going to win in a blowout and you’re going to be bored by midway through the third quarter. Instead, you want to look for team’s that will challenge one another and play a fun brand of basketball in the process.
That’s where we come in, serving up the best NBA League Pass games of each week. Here’s a look at the five games you need to have on lock for the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6:

5. Nuggets vs. Timberwolves (Thursday, Nov. 3 – 8 p.m. ET)
I’ve championed the Minnesota Timberwolves for the past two seasons and and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Watching Karl-Anthony Towns is a treat every night, but Andrew Wiggins has also taken a step forward this season and the team simply is comprised of young players full of energy. Though that hasn’t translated to much success to start the year, that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable to watch.
Much like the Wolves, though, the Denver Nuggets also have a collection of young assets that are a treat to watch. Their duo of European big men in Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic is a treat every time they go to work—and especially to watch the former get in the ear of his opponents. Throw in a little Emmanuel Mudiay being the enigma of a point guard that he is and they too are a fun, young team—even if the success hasn’t arrived just yet in Denver either.
Subsequently, these are two teams that are going to be high-energy and evenly matched. Though this likely isn’t going to be a playoff preview by any means, it should be a fantastic watch and one that will leave your mouth agape at least a handful of times.
