WWE legend Jake the Snake Roberts filmed a hype video for the Chicago Cubs and Jake Arrieta ahead of World Series Game 6
The Chicago Cubs, just like they were on Sunday night in Game 5, face elimination in the World Series on Tuesday night. With the series heading back to Ohio and the Cleveland Indians at home, it’s going to be a tall-task for the Cubs to come back. They trail 3-2 in the series, but they do have an ace in the hole—and on the mound. Jake Arrieta, affectionately nicknamed Snake, will take the hill for the Cubbies. So it only figures that another Jake “The Snake” would reach out.
Prior to Game 6, WWF/WWE legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts uploaded a hype video of sorts to his mentor’s (Diamond Dallas Page) YouTube channel.
During his days in the squared circle, Roberts was known as one of the best promos in the business. It only takes you about 15 seconds into the message to the Cubs and Arrieta to see why that was the case. Warning: this will give you chills:
Even through all of his personal turmoil over the years and with him being well past his prime-age, Jake “The Snake” Roberts still has an innate ability to add gravitas to anything.
Obviously the fact that the Cubs are in their first World Series in 71 years and playing for their first win in 108 doesn’t need much gravitas added. However, Roberts finds away to do so while also galvanizing the team and their fans. Considering that Arrieta also borrowed his nickname from the former wrester, that only adds to the coolness of it all.

Arrieta flirted with a no-hitter for most of his outing the last time he pitched for Chicago. On the road in an elimination game, he’ll need to be at that level once again. Needless to say, Cubs fans have to hope that Roberts brings out their own Jake The Snake in Cleveland for Game 6.
