Jamie Collins was an NFL Pro Bowl player for the New England Patriots last season, and eight weeks into the 2016 season, he has been traded.

The Cleveland Browns should be sellers, as they currently sit at 0-8 on the season. However, on Monday, the team swung a deal to upgrade their defense, acquiring Pro Bowl linebacker Jamie Collins from the New England Patriots. In exchange for Collins, the Patriots nabbed a conditional third-round selection in the 2017 NFL draft.

Collins, who is regarded as one of the better linebackers in football, was scheduled to get a big payday after the season. In typical Patriots fashion, the team sent him packing before paying him, and locked up a draft pick. It is a sad day for Collins, who went from a 7-1 team headed to another Super Bowl, to the hapless Browns.

The NFL said goodbye to one of the better wide receivers in recent memory on Monday, as Tennessee Titans wideout Andre Johnson announced his retirement. Johnson, who just may be headed to Canton, burst onto the scene as a member of the Houston Texans early in his career. A seven-time Pro Bowler, Johnson finishes his illustrious career in the top-10 all time in receptions and yards.

From one former Texan, to a current one, Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler is having a rough first season with the team. On Monday, team owner Bob McNair said that Osweiler is “basically a rookie,” and that he is going to make mistakes.

The team signed Osweiler to a huge contract this offseason, and he has not been earning his paycheck early on. Despite his struggles, the Texans are 5-3 this season, which is good for first place in the AFC South.

The Green Bay Packers signed Knile Davis less than two weeks ago, and on Monday, they let him go. Green Bay released the veteran running back after only five carries, and will now look to rookie Don Johnson to carry the load going forward.

Veteran James Starks has been battling a knee injury, but he must be close to returning for the Pack to let go of Davis. Wide receiver Ty Montgomery has also filled in nicely at running back for Green Bay this season.

Big praise for Tom Brady on Monday, as Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly said that he is the best QB of all time. Kelly, who led the Buffalo Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls, told ESPN’s Chris Berman that it is his consistency that sets him above the rest. Brady has beaten Kelly’s Bills 26 times in his career, including a 38-17 drubbing this past week in Buffalo.
