DraftKings NBA Picks for November 2
We have our biggest night in the NBA so far this season at ten games. At this point in the season, we are just trying to see what trends can help us win some money in DraftKings. That means identifying bench players who played 20 or more minutes per game behind starters that donāt produce so we can pay for expensive players.

DraftKings is making one very important change for the 2016-2017 season. For some strange reason, they gave up their only advantage over FanDuel for NBA games. DraftKings decided to lock ALL games when the contest starts just as FanDuel does.
The big difference now between FanDuel and DraftKings is the lineups. FanDuel has one more slot, but you are confined to two of every position except center, where you get one. On DraftKings, you get a starting five plus a G, F, and UTIL. This is still an advantage over FanDuel because we can play two centers even though the roster is smaller!

Best Bets:
Russell Westbrook ($12,900): Triple doubles are expensive. Westbrook is one assist shy of three consecutive triple-doubles. There is no reason to think the Clippers can stop it from being four. He is the alpha and the omega of the Oklahoma City offense, and that wont change anytime soon.
Damian Lillard ($9,600):Ā Lillard struggled a little bit against the Warriors last night, failing to top 40 DraftKings points for the first time this year. He should have no problem flirting with 50 once again tonight against the up-tempo Suns.
Honorable Mention:
John Wall ($8,200): Wall has two straight double doubles to open the season. He has also racked up six rebounds, five steals, and two blocks. His across the board production is making him a near lock for 5x value. Once he starting hitting his shots, look out!
Isaiah Thomas ($7,300):Ā Thomas has average 41 DraftKings points per game over his first three, which is a great bargain at this price. So why is he not in the top tier? The Bulls have done a very good job defending the perimeter. Thomas has not posted double digit assists in a game so far this year. He could, but the fact that he is relying mostly on scoring scares me a bit.
Tim Frazier ($6,200):Ā Frazier had trouble against the Spurs over the weekend, but he put up his third 40+ point DraftKings effort in four tries last night against Milwaukee. Tonight he gets a Memphis team that got crushed by the Timberwolves last night. Kris Dunn and Zach LaVine went nuts on them. Expect Frazier to at the very least come near 40.
Dark Horses:
Sergio Rodriguez ($4,900): Rodriguez has produced well in every game while starting for the injured Jerryd Bayless. He picked up his first double-double last night with 12 points and 11 assists. He also have five rebounds. He is producing in every category right now. Rodriguez has 38 points, 25 assists, 13 rebounds, and a steal in three games. That is performance well above his price.
Isaiah Canaan ($3,100): Canaan shot the lights out on Monday once Michael Carter-Williams exited the game. MCW is out for this game, so Canaan will get good minutes with the second team, and will provide plenty of assists and steals. He put up 31.25 DraftKings points in only 22 minutes against the Nets. If he plays 20 minutes again, he should easily top 6x value.
My pick:Ā Frazier(PG), Rodriguez(G)

Best Bets:
James Harden ($11,200): You likely wont be able to afford both Harden and Westbrook, but Harden is making his case for being almost as good. Harden racked up 41 points and 15 assists last night to go with seven rebounds and a steal. That is a cool 78.25 points on DraftKings. That is near Westbrook totals. Just be aware that he will likely rest once this game against the Knicks gets out of hand.
DeMar DeRozan ($7,800): The good news here is that you likely can afford either Westbrook or Harden and DeRozan. DeRozan has had a low point of 42.25 DraftKings points in his three games. He doesnāt have the double-double potential of Harden or the triple-double likelihood of Westbrook, but he does offer a lot of points when he is hot like he is now. His worst game has still brought 5.4x value.
Honorable Mention:
C.J. McCollum ($7,200):Ā McCollum also had a down night against Golden State, but he will likely be back to his 30-35 DraftKings points ways against the Suns tonight. That said, his two games under 30 out of four games have me a bit concerned. Not against Phoenix, but going forward.
Dwyane Wade ($6,500): The Wade experiment in Chicago has gone very well so far with Wade averaging 31.5 DraftKings points per game. That is an average of about 5x value. Tonight he draws a Boston team that may be without Avery Bradley. If that happens, Wade may be up to must-play status.
Dark Horses:
Avery Bradley ($5,800): Bradley has been a terror so far this year, averaging 42.7 DraftKings points per game so far. If he plays, he may be limited by the shoulder, but he definitely does enough on the defensive end to hit 5x value. that is only 29 points. He should eclipse that with ease.
Jamal Crawford ($4,300): Crawford has been a consistent scorer for the Clippers so far, but he offers little else. That said, he will see anywhere from 20-25 minutes per game, and shouldnāt have a problem reaching 5x value. If starter J.J. Redick continues to struggle, Crawford may be able to pick up some more minutes.
My pick:Ā DeRozan(SG)

Best Bets:
Jimmy Butler ($7,700): You may be better served starting Butler here withĀ a dearth of options at the SF slot. You may even want to play both Butler and Wade. Butlerās scoring is down a bit with Wade in town, but he grabs enough rebounds and steals to come close to his value. He should be the highest scoring SF eligible player tonight, if that means anything.
Jae Crowder ($5,600):Ā Crowder has filled up the stat sheet so far this year. In three games, he has 44 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists, five steals, four blocks, and seven three pointers. He is a lock for 30 DraftKings points with his production, making him a great option at this price.
Honorable Mention:
Tobias Harris ($6,100):Ā Harris has been very consistent so far this year. His four games have been 29.75, 32, 29.75, and 30.25 DraftKings points respectively. The math is simple. If you spend $6,100 on Harris, you will get 30 points.
T.J. Warren ($5,900): Warren has been an elite scorer for the Suns in the early going, racking up 85 points in four games. He doesnāt do a whole lot of other things, but if he keeps scoring, we donāt mind.
Dark Horses:
Marcus Morris ($5,400):Ā Morris has scored in double figures in all four games, and corrals enough rebounds to consistently get him near the 30 DraftKings mark. There are a lot of similar players at SF tonight. The trick is finding the one that can go off. Morris is mostly a model of consistency, just like his teammate Tobias Harris.
Thabo Sefalosha ($3,900):Ā The struggles of Kent Bazemore have allowed Sefalosha a few more minutes in the early going. Of course, his play hasnāt hurt things either. He has ten steals in just 65 minutes. He also has nine assists and 17 rebounds to go with 28 points. He will never be an elite scorer, but his defense makes him worth a look if you need to save money.
My pick:Ā Crowder(SF)

Best Bets:
Anthony Davis ($10,900):Ā Davis āonlyā had 69.75 DraftKings points last night. Do you realize how spoiled we are? Davis dominated last night, and he should again tonight taking on either JaMychal Green or Zach Randolph. They have no chance of handling A.D.
Paul Millsap ($8,000):Ā Millsap has turned in 98.25 DraftKings points in the two games in which he wasnāt rested. Now the difficult part. Will the Lakers be able to hang with the Hawks, or will Millsap be watching from the pine in the fourth quarter again? How you answer that question will determine Millsapās value.
Honorable Mention:
Markieff Morris ($5,800):Ā Morris has provided 62.75 DraftKings points over his first two games, which makes him a healthy value going into tonight. The Raptors arenāt particularly tough up front, so Morris should be free to gather rebounds and get open looks.
Taj Gibson ($5,600):Ā Gibson has been consistent over the Bulls three games. He is right around 30 DraftKings points in each game, so he is a lock for close to 6x value. His playing time isnāt going to evaporate with Nikola Mirotic struggling. Taj will continue to start and post double-doubles for the foreseeable future.
Dark Horses:
Trevor Booker ($5,000):Ā Booker has averaged nine points and ten rebounds per game over the first four games. He has spent at least 24 minutes on the court in three of the four games. He could have trouble reaching 30 DraftKings points against the Pistons, but he only needs 25 for 5x value.
Trey Lyles ($3,400):Ā Lyles had a huge night last night, and could be in for another one tonight against a soft Dallas interior. Derrick Favors is still having his minutes limited, and with Lylesā outburst last night, there is a great chance he gets a good run against Dallas since it is the second night of a back-to-back trip to Texas.
My pick:Ā Davis(PF), Gibson(F), Lyles(UTIL)

Best Bets:
Andre Drummond ($8,300):Ā Drummond was cold from the field (and the foul line) last night, but still managed 34.25 DraftKings points because of his otherworldly rebounding skills. He may have the highest floor of anyone because his is a lock for at least 15 rebounds a night. That is at least 20 points a night just on rebounds.
DeAndre Jordan ($7,400):Ā Jordan dominated a Suns interior that had been playing well in the early going on Monday. Jordan has the size to have his way with Steven Adams tonight. He could come close to Mondayās production (42.75 DraftKings points), making him a great bargain.
Honorable Mention:
Marc Gasol ($6,100):Ā Gasol should be well rested against a Pelicans team tonight that hasnāt done particularly well against opposing centers.Ā Gasolās all around production has always been his hallmark, and that hasnāt changed this year. He is about as consistent as they come, though he lacks the upside of those in front of him. He is much like Rudy Gay. He is a solid foundation piece of a DFS roster.
Steven Adams ($6,000):Ā Adams has scored in double figures twice already this season, and seems to have picked up where he left off in the playoffs. Facing off against Jordan is a tall task, but the Clippers have actually allowed a lot of points in the paint so far this year. Adams could be a very sneaky play.
Dark Horses:
Joel Embiid ($5,600):Ā Embiid played the most minutes of his career (25) last night, and turned in his first career double-double. It wont be his last. In fact, his next could come tonight against the Hornets. The Sixers are going to keep increasing his minutes, and Embiid is an absolute steal at this price. He picked up 44.5 DraftKings points last night in only 25 minutes.
Cody Zeller ($4,300):Ā With Roy Hibbert likely out again, Zeller should again be a solid producer. Will he get you over 30 DraftKings points? Doubtful, but he is a lock to get your between 20 and 25.
My pick:Ā Embiid(C)
