The Kansas City Chiefs will have to finish the rest of the 2016 NFL regular season without running back Jamaal Charles, who will be placed on IR.

The Kansas City Chiefs have basically been without Jamaal Charles for the entire season, as he has been used sparingly in 2016. On Tuesday, Charles was placed on IR, as he continues to have issues with the knee he tore up last season. Charles needs a second surgery on his balky knee, which could spell the end of his career. Charles has been one of the better running backs in the AFC throughout his career, so if this is the final chapter, it is a sad ending.

Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams has been suspended for four games, after violating the NFL’s Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Williams is a four-time Pro Bowler, and is the anchor of the Redskins offensive line. He will be able to go to team meetings, and work out at the facility, but will not be eligible to return to the field until December 5.

Former star wide receiver Percy Harvin is coming out of retirement, and will rejoin one of his former teams. Harvin will re-sign with the Buffalo Bills, who will pay Harvin $1 million, including incentives, over the final eight games of the season. The electric return man had been battling a chronic hip injury, but the 28-year-old is apparently healthy now. With Sammy Watkins out until Week 12, the Bills’ offense should get a nice boost from having Harvin back in the lineup.

Speaking of heading back onto the field, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger may be ready to go this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Big Ben had surgery to fix a meniscus tear in his left knee after the team’s shocking loss to the Miami Dolphins back in Week 6. The Steelers had their bye week this past week, after taking a loss to the New England Patriots in Week 7. If Big Ben can go, it instantly makes the Steelers the favorite to win on Sunday.

Knile Davis spent all of two weeks as a member of the Green Bay Packers, before being released after carrying the ball only five times for the team. On Tuesday, he was signed by the New York Jets, but was promptly waive within hours. Instead of hanging onto Davis, the team signed C.J. Spiller, adding the veteran back to a backfield led by Matt Forte. Spiller will be reunited with Chan Gailey, who was the head coach of the Buffalo Bills during the best years of Spiller’s career.
