World Series 2016: Shirtless J.R. Smith fires up Indians crowd (Video)
Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith showed up on the Indians videoboard and immediately took his shirt off to fire up the crowd in Cleveland.
J.R. Smith’s best moments of 2016 have come when he’s been shirtless. When the Cleveland Cavaliers were celebrating their NBA title, you better believe J.R. was leaving the shirt behind. So when he and his Cavs teammates were cheering on the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the World Series, there was only way for the veteran guard to be.
During the seventh-inning stretch of Game 7, the Indians were trailing 6-3 and needed something to get both the team and the home crowd at Progressive Field going. That’s when they showed the Cavs players on the videoboard playing music. While the rest of the NBA champs looked composed, J.R. Smith was ready to get everyone in the stadium going wild.
And sure enough, he did so by taking off his shirt once again and dancing to get everyone riled up. What a treasure of a human being:
I know the Indians already have a pretty famous mascot, but who’s down to start a petition to give that job to shirtless J.R. Smith? He means more to this city than anyone not named LeBron James.

Unfortunately, the shirtless rally cry was fruitless as Cleveland failed to score in the bottom of the seventh. If J.R. has another shirt to put on and then take off again to get the mojo right, he might need to do so.
