Chicago Cubs left fielder Ben Zobrist delivered the go-ahead run in the 10th inning of Game 7 of the World Series.

After the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians played a classic game through nine innings and a weather delay, there were extra innings. Bryan Shaw would come into the 10th inning for the Indians after pitching in the ninth and he would run into trouble immediately.

Kyle Schwarber would get a hit to lead off the inning and would be replaced by Albert Almora Jr. as a pinch-runner. Shaw would get Kris Bryant, but Almora Jr. would steal second. With a big decision on tap, the Indians chose to walk Anthony Rizzo. That brought up Ben Zobrist, who didn’t have a hit on the night. Sure enough, Zobrist would send a shot into left field to give the Cubs the lead.

Shaw would continue to run in all sorts of trouble on the mound and the Cubs would load the bases and score another run after a Miguel Montero hit. It was a tough inning for Shaw, but an even bigger inning for Zobrist.

After the Cubs blew the lead, they needed a hero to give them the lead right back. That ended up being Zobrist with the biggest hit of his night.
