Bill Murray celebrates in Cubs locker room after World Series win (Video)
Bill Murray was in the locker room with the Chicago Cubs after they won the World Series and it was every bit as amazing as you’d imagine.
Bill Murray has long been a staple of Chicago Cubs fandom. The famed comedy actor has been making us laugh for most of his life, but he’s been waiting for his team to win a World Series for all of it. So it only made sense that he would be at Game 7 for the conclusion of the 2016 World Series against the Cleveland Indians. And win they won, he was ecstatic.
The actor and fan was down on the field celebrating with the team and having the time of his life. He was interviewed and had plenty of great soundbites. However, the true magic didn’t come until he went back to the locker room to celebrate with the team.
For starters, FOX Sports gave him a microphone to go back and interview players and the team. One of his first was the curse-breaker himself, president of baseball operations Theo Epstein. And when he asked Epstein a question, he responded by giving Murray a champagne shower:
He then followed that up by “interviewing” and certainly celebrating with both Dexter Fowler and Jason Heyward:
"“You need a sip, you alright?” Special Correspondent Bill Murray interviews & drinks with the @Cubs‘ Jason Heyward https://t.co/gmz0bCNk4r— #Game7 (@MLBONFOX) November 3, 2016"
"BILL MURRAY interviews & celebrates with the @Cubs‘ @DexterFowler.This is too good. #WorldSeries https://t.co/sP8FmWoo4I— #Game7 (@MLBONFOX) November 3, 2016"
Of course, Bill Murray then had a treat for everyone with cameras on him, showering them too with champagne:
It only figures that Murray would still be hysterical in one of the best moments of his life. He’s a comedic genius. And it’s also impossible not to be ridiculously happy for him in this moment.
