The Chicago Cubs have won the 2016 World Series and here are the t-shirts and hats to commemorate the history 108 years in the making

You probably never thought you’d see it, but the Chicago Cubs are World Series champions. It took seven games, a comeback from 3-1 down against the Cleveland Indians, and one of the wildest decisive games you’ll ever see. However, that’s what a win that breaks 108 years of cursed history  has to be all about.

The Cubs jumped out to a big lead in this game and took a 6-3 lead into the eighth inning. However, a tired Aroldis Chapman blew it and saw it all get tied up with a Rajai Davis home run. After a scoreless ninth, the tarps came out briefly for a rain delay. That was short-lived, though, and the Cubs came out firing. Ben Zobrist’s RBI double put Chicago ahead 7-6 and the Miguel Montero added another run with an RBI single, which turned out to be enormous.

Carl Edwards Jr. allowed one run in the bottom of the 10th, but Mike Montgomery faced one batter and got the most important out in Cubs (and maybe baseball) history. The final out that clinched the 2016 World Series.

For the first time in over a century, Cubs fans can now get World Series shirts and hats for their teams. And here’s what they look like, via MLB and ESPN’s Darren Rovell:

Think those will sell well in the city of Chicago?

We can’t underestimate the importance of this moment. Generations have passed without seeing this organization win it all. Now it’s happened and in glorious fashion. Congratulations to the team, the city, and the fans of the Chicago Cubs.
