UCLA Bruins sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen will miss the rest of the season due to nerve issues in his shoulder, according to his head coach Jim Mora.
The 2016 UCLA Bruins football team has had a miserable season, as this team was expected to contend for the Pac-12 Championship as one of the front-runners in the Pac-12 South. Instead, UCLA has stumbled to 3-5 (1-4) and will be without its best player the rest of the season.
According to Bruins head coach Jim Mora, UCLA sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen will be out for the Bruins’ final four regular season games. Rosen’s 2016 season has been cut short due to experiencing nerve issues in his shoulder.

Fortunately for UCLA, Rosen was only in his true sophomore season in Westwood. He will not be eligible to enter the NFL Draft until 2018, three years removed from Rosen’s 2015 high school graduation class.
This gives Rosen ample time to get his shoulder injury under control before gradually being worked back into the mix during spring practice. Rosen has the look of a first-round talent at quarterback, but his frailty might end up holding him back from reaching his full potential as a passer.
For now, UCLA has to go 3-1 in its final four games to reach a holiday season bowl. The Bruins have a brutal game on the road on Thursday night against the No. 15 Colorado Buffaloes at Folsom Field in Boulder.

Colorado or the Utah Utes will likely wind up winning the Pac-12 South in a season that could have been for UCLA. For UCLA to potentially win the Pac-12 in 2017, the Bruins will need Rosen to be at full strength. UCLA is clearly losing the 2016 battle to maybe win the war in 2017. Tough news for Rosen and UCLA.
