SportsCenter released a classic commercial to celebrate the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series.
The Chicago Cubs have made history and won their first World Series in 108 years. With the big win, this team will forever go down in history as the one that broke the curse. As is expected, there have been several tributes after their win. From signs to t-shirts all the way to newspaper tributes, the Cubs are being showered in praise worthy of World Series Champions.
Commercials have been the popular tribute after the big win. SportsCenter is known for their awesome commercials and they made the perfect tribute for the Cubs finally winning it all.
ESPN’s Jay Harris is seen walking through the office up to the copy machine. Above is a sign that reads “Years since Cubs last World Series” on it. He erases the 108 with and writes zero with a dry erase marker to seal the deal.
It’s a very subtle commercial with no words that also features the UConn Huskies’ mascot coming in with a cone around his head and changing the workplace accident sign to zero. A little humor with a little sincerity was a great touch for a phenomenal World Series.
