Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr freaked out after Stephen Curry didn’t receive a call early on in the game.
In interviews and during his time at TNT, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has seemed like a mild-mannered guy. He keeps it calm when talking about his team too, which has been among the best in the league over his two seasons in California.
Thursday’s game between the Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder had plenty of emotion built up for it. It would be the first time Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have faced off since the former left for Golden State. While the following moment may have nothing to do with this, it only added to the circus that it this matchup.
Minutes into the first quarter, Stephen Curry went for a three-pointer in the corner, but looked like he may have been knocked down by Thunder players. This happened right in front of the Warriors bench, so Kerr saw it directly.
No call was given to Curry, so the third-year coach got up from his seat and went absolutely berserk on the referees. Assistant coach Mike Brown had to restrain him from things getting worse.
Kerr certainly wasn’t asking what the referees were doing after the game, so they hit him with a technical foul and put OKC at the free throw line.

This won’t affect the game much as the first quarter hasn’t even concluded yet. It should be a lengthy, back and forth contest between two of the Western Conference’s best teams, while potentially seeing Westbrook and Durant match up with each other at some point.

Steve Kerr’s emotions may have gotten the best of him on this one. If he gets another technical, though, he’ll be watching the game from the locker room.
