Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers will welcome Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans to town this week in a classic AFC match-up.

The Tennessee Titans will head to San Diego to take on the Chargers this week, and they are coming off their best game of the season. The Titans destroyed the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football in Week 8, dominating on both sides of the ball. San Diego is coming off a tough loss to division rival Denver, and will be looking to start the second half of their season on a high note.

Despite being devastated by injuries, the Chargers have actually been very competitive this season. They have been in nearly every game they have played, and let at least three wins slip through their fingers late early in the season. Philip Rivers is still one of the better quarterbacks in the AFC, and he will be going up against one of the better up and coming signal-callers in the game.

Marcus Mariota continues to get better every week, and he looked very comfortable picking apart his divisional rival on Thursday night. The addition of DeMarco Murray has done wonders for his development, and veteran tight end Delanie Walker has served as a perfect security blanket. The defense looked very good in the first half last week, but they will face a much better offensive unit this week in San Diego.

The Chargers have proven this season that they can play with anybody and are far better than their 3-5 record would indicate. Rookie defensive end Joey Bosa has been as good as advertised, looking like the kind of player who can anchor the defense for the next ten years. They should be able to take care of business at home as they try to stay in the thick of things in the AFC West.

Tennessee is a team on the rise, and they have some very nice young pieces on their team. The problem is that they are not consistent, and their secondary is going to have a hard time on Sunday stopping the pass. Mariota will keep it close, but San Diego is going to start the second half of their season with a big win.

Prediction: Chargers 28, Titans 24
