Chicago Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo gave an emotional thank you to catcher David Ross during the team’s World Series parade.
The Chicago Cubs winning the World Series was one of the most emotional moments in sports. After 108 years of waiting, the team was finally able to bring home a championship to their fans. Their victory parade was just as emotional too.
As the Cubs got up on stage to give speeches, it was Anthony Rizzo that had a hard time getting through his speech. He really had a lot to say about catcher David Ross and just how much he taught him. Ross played his final game in Game 7 and has played a huge role in the team with his veteran influence and timely hits. Rizzo’s heartfelt thank you really stood out.
The big takeaway from the parade is that it feels like just about everyone that gave a speech referenced Ross in some way. It really drives home the point about just how important he was to the team this season.
Ross was having a great time on stage and lifted the World Series trophy as the crowd lost their minds. He was appreciative of his teammates and they were more than appreciative of everything he had done for them.
