At BlizzCon 2016, Blizzard finally confirmed all the rumors about Sombra in Overwatch with the brand-new animated short, Infiltration.
Ever since Overwatch launched back in May of this year, it’s become and absolute hit. With some games taking up most of the fanbase and popularity, like League of Legends, Overwatch has still managed to gather a huge audience.
The game is a first-person shooter, but it’s also a lot more than that. There’s a variety of characters to choose from, which cater to different types of players and roles. Overwatch is a breath of fresh air in the genre. Till this day, we’re still having a ton of fun with it.
Other than playing the game, Overwatch has also been surrounded by a bunch of fan theories and speculation. Most of these theories and speculation have revolved around a specific character named Sombra. A new character named Ana turned out to be the character that was released first. But, these Sombra leaks were still happening.
Leading up to BlizzCon 2016, Sombra was all but confirmed. We saw concept art and images based on the character. We also saw how she would play. Now, finally, at BlizzCon 2016, they officially revealed Sombra.
In a new animated short titled “Infiltration,” you see the new character. Not only is this great because we see Sombra, but we also see stellar animation once again. Other than the actual game, Blizzard has built quite the reputation for these incredible animated shorts.
Check out the animated short below:
In “Infiltration,” you see Reaper, Widowmaker, and Sombra. They’re on a mission to assassinate a high-priority target. But, as things don’t go as planned, they’re forced to rethink their situation and improvise.
Besides the animated short, what we really wanted to see was Sombra. We get a look at how she’ll be played. She’s an offensive character with stealth and debilitating attacks. She also has a teleportation ability, which makes her a hard target to hit. To see more about Sombra, check out her overview.
