Even though the Cleveland Indians lost the World Series, they still have unofficial champion shirts available.

It seems Cleveland Indians fans got a bit too cocky before Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. Not only did a fan get 2016 Champions tattoo with the Chief Wahoo logo before the game, vendors were selling unofficial World Series champions gear. Any fans silly enough to buy it might have a bit of a collector’s item, since the Cubs won. Karma is quite painful and Cleveland fans had to find that out the hard way. After Cleveland fans spent the summer blasting the Golden State Warriors with 3-1 lead memes, the same thing happened to the Indians.

Official championship shirts like this are often hidden away. If a team doesn’t win the championship, they’re usually sent overseas. So some kid in rural Africa probably thinks the Carolina Panthers won the Super Bowl and the Indians won the 2016 World Series. However, unofficial gear can’t be controlled.

Someone trying to make a quick buck by having the gear ready before Game 7 might be doing fans who bought it a favor. These shirts could be considered a collector’s item. Errors like this shirt are often worth a lot of money because of how rare they are. 2016 World Series champion Indians shirts are obviously not too easy to come by since the official ones are heading somewhere else.

While it seemed like Cleveland would be celebrating its second championship of 2016, the Chicago Cubs were simply too much to handle. Their bats woke up in Game 5, proving inconvenient for a rotation which had only one great starter (Corey Kluber). Give Cleveland credit though. They pushed a much better team to seven games and nearly pulled off the upset. A lot of that is due to their amazing bullpen and brilliant manager Terry Francona.
