The Clippers have played very well at the start of the 2016-17 NBA season. They suffered their first loss on Wednesday night to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 95-93. Los Angeles had beaten three other Western Conference teams before that lost at home to the Thunder: the Portland Trail Blazers, the Utah Jazz, and the Phoenix Suns.
Memphis defeated the lowly New Orleans Pelicans in overtime at home on Wednesday night, 89-83 to move to 3-2 on the year. The Grizzlies’ toughest test of the early part of the season will be tonight at home versus the Clippers. Does Memphis have what it takes to hold its own at the Grindhouse on Friday night against Los Angeles?

Los Angeles has played better against better competition this season than Memphis. The Clippers feel like a lock to win at least 50 games in 2016-17. Memphis could get there, but isn’t a guarantee to make the 2017 Western Conference Playoffs. Los Angeles should win a low-scoring affair in Memphis on Friday night.
