These are the best five games to follow in Week 10 of the college football season.
Week 10 of the college football season is here and the playoff implications have never been bigger. The first College Football Playoff ranking has come out and the teams that are currently in the top four will look to remain there. That means that they can’t slip up against inferior competition.
There are some truly great games on tap this week and none is bigger than the LSU Tigers playing host to the Alabama Crimson Tide. That’s not the only great game this week either. Let’s look at the top five games in Week 10 of the college football seaosn.
Pittsburgh at Miami
Pittsburgh and Miami may not find themselves in the mix for a division title this year but both programs have shown signs of progress under Pat Narduzzi and Mark Richt. Don’t expect a lot of defense to be played in this game with both offenses leading the way in this ACC clash. Look for the team with the ball last to come away on top.
Texas at Texas Tech
Get ready for a ton of points in this Big 12 showdown. Texas is coming off a huge upset win over previously undefeated Baylor and they have a ton of confidence on their side after early-season struggles. Patrick Mahomes and Texas Tech can score with the best of them, but they’ll need to make a few plays on defense to come away with the home win.
Florida at Arkansas
The Florida Gators may have the nation’s best defense and will rely on that unit to pick up a crucial SEC win as they look to strengthen their hold on the SEC East division lead. The Hogs have a penchant for playing their best football in November and will be thinking upset in front of the home fans.
Nebraska at Ohio State
The winner controls their destiny in the race for a Big Ten Championship while the loser can say goodbye to their conference title hopes. Nebraska is coming off a loss to Wisconsin while Ohio State is coming off a narrow win over Northwestern. It’ll take the Buckeyes best effort at home with quarterback J.T. Barrett needing a big game against the Blackshirt defense.
Alabama at LSU
Alabama-LSU has been the best SEC game for the last few years and this year’s game is no different. Ed Orgeron can make a big statement for getting the full-time coaching job with a win over the No. 1 team. Having Leonard Fournette healthy will help his cause but the Crimson Tide held him to 31 yards last year. If Fournette breaks out, there could be an upset brewing in Baton Rouge.
