NFC East rivals will square off as the New York Giants host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in NFL Week 9.
The Philadelphia Eagles look to get back on track, suffering a defeat by the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. Losing the opportunity to claim first place in the division, now they must settle for an attempt at second place. Sitting at 4-3, both teams are hoping to come out of Sunday’s match with a victory in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.
After the Eagles knocked off then undefeated Minnesota Vikings, the “what if” talk began about their chances to make a Super Bowl. Fast forward to last week, an overtime loss at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles’ future is now bleak.
Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz has had a tough fall off the high horse he entered the league on. However, his receivers dropping six passes in the Dallas defeat proves that the entire offense needs some work.
The Giants should have the advantage coming into Sunday’s match, as they are coming off a bye week. They have won their last two games, but history has not been kind to the Giants as they have not beaten the Eagles in their last four attempts.

Prediction
This is one of the oldest rivalries in the history of the NFL, so expect a good one. The Eagles’ defense got rattled last week with the return of Dez Bryant, so expect them to clamp down on Odell Beckham Jr., allowing other receivers to have a big game.

The abysmal receiving core that the Eagles have will be neutralized by the Giants’ mediocre secondary. The Eagles should put up a fair fight, but assuming future Hall of Fame quarterback Eli Manning navigates the offense efficiently, then the Giants should take this one.
Pick: Eagles 17, Giants 24
