Colorado Buffaloes kick returner Isaiah Oliver found pay dirt against the UCLA Bruins late in their Thursday night game to put Colorado up by two scores.

The Colorado Buffaloes entered Thursday night’s home game against the Pac-12 South rival UCLA Bruins as the No. 15 team in the first College Football Rankings in 2016. This game was all sorts of wacky in Boulder, with the Bruins on the verge of pulling off the upset.

Up 13-10 late in the fourth quarter, the Colorado defense pinned UCLA deep in their own territory for a punt. Colorado’s return specialist Isaiah Oliver embarked on a remarkable touchdown run on the Bruins to make it a two-score game.

Oliver would field the punt at the Colorado 33-yard line. He would then proceed to make a sharp cut near midfield to create separation. Oliver would make a power cut at the UCLA 25-yard line to shake off a would-be Bruin tackler.

He would then shake the Bruins punter on another juke move for the 67-yard punt return for a touchdown. Oliver would find pay dirt late in the fourth quarter to help build a comfortable lead on the lowly Bruins at home.

Colorado and its biggest Pac-12 rival Utah are the two teams most likely to win the Pac-12 South this year. UCLA and Arizona are terrible in 2016 and both Arizona State and USC are too inconsistent to win the division.

This year’s Rumble in the Rockies between the Buffaloes and the Utah Utes will be in Boulder. If Colorado beats Washington State, both Rocky Mountain rivals should enter that rivalry game at 9-2 on the season.

Utah’s two losses would be in Pac-12 play, while Colorado would only have one conference blemish. That could be a great budding rivalry game to decide a Power 5 divisional race at season’s end. Oliver’s punt return for a touchdown should seal this one for the Buffaloes over the Bruins.
