Kevin Durant shredded former teammate Enes Kanter after Thursday night’s game between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder.
On Thursday night, Kevin Durant had his first game against the Thunder since leaving the team in free agency for the Warriors.
There had been plenty of fanfare around this game, including how Durant and Russell Westbrook would interact. The former teammates would block each other, but that’s about as much as they dealt with each other during the game.
However, KD had an interesting conversation with Thunder center Enes Kanter, a teammate of his from 2014-16. While Durant stood by the paint, waiting for a free throw, he and Kanter, who was sitting on the bench, had a somewhat lengthy exchange. They went back and forth until Steven Adams got the 2013 first round pick to stop.
After the game, the former NBA MVP would speak about his interaction with Kanter, and didn’t hold back. He questioned how many minutes the Thunder center plays and said, “I’m sure he’ll put something on Twitter tonight”.
Ouch.
Durant and Kanter clearly aren’t the best of friends, and probably won’t be having a friendly get-together anytime soon. This could have been an indication that they didn’t get along much in Oklahoma City either, or if Kanter had hard feelings for his former teammate leaving for the 2015 NBA champions in the offseason.

We’ll see if Kanter actually does take to social media like Durant said. It would potentially start a war of words between the two, something that would only heat up this brewing rivalry.

For the Warriors, it would be more writing on the wall as they look to dominate the Western Conference and prove they’re the best team in the NBA. With OKC, it would be time to avoid giving Golden State any bulletin board material.
