Bayern Munich’s narrow win against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League Tuesday made it four wins in a row for the German giants, another step towards putting their recent “blip” — in which they lost to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League before drawing two Bundesliga games on the bounce — well and truly behind them. Carlo Ancelotti’s side still haven’t achieved full fluency this season, but they boast the sort of individual talent that will often overcome any collective failings. Robert Lewandowksi has seven Bundesliga goals so far this season, while Franck Ribery leads the league in assists.

Hoffenheim have exceeded expectations this season, and are currently in third place in the table after finishing 15th last season. They’ve conceded at least four more goals than any other team in the top four, which isn’t a great sign, but they’re finding ways to win. Sandro Wagner is their top scorer with four goals, while Mark Uth and Andrej Kramaric are both on three. They’ve won five games in a row in the league, but Bayern will pose a much tougher test than any of their recent opponents, especially away from home.
