Here’s how to watch Saturday’s nonconference match-up between the Cincinnati Bearcats and BYU Cougars online.
A pair of 4-4 teams will try to get above the .500 mark when the Cincinnati Bearcats host the BYU Cougars on Saturday afternoon at Nippert Stadium.
Fourth-year head coach Tommy Tuberville is under some fire after putting together another disappointing season in Cincinnati. The Bearcats are just 1-4 in AAC play and were blown out by Temple last Saturday. With a loss to the Cougars, Cincinnati’s five-year streak of making a bowl game could be in jeopardy.
The Bearcats rank 104th in the nation in scoring offense and have struggled to find a stable quarterback situation throughout the season. Underclassmen Hayden Moore and Ross Trail were ineffective before being replaced by Gunner Kiel on October 22 against East Carolina. The former top recruit has at least been the best of the trio with six touchdowns to no interceptions.
BYU is a bit down compared to recent seasons under first-year head coach Kalani Sitake after winning nine games a year ago. The Cougars have been playing better of late after winning three straight from September 30 to October 14 before losing by one point on the road to a good Boise State team the next week.
Senior quarterback Tayson Hill has stayed healthy this season and thrown for over 1,600 yards and nine touchdowns. The Cougars will likely senior have running back Jamal Williams back from an ankle injury, which will provide a needed boost to an offense that is averaging only 28 points per contest. Williams is averaging 5.7 yards per carry and has scored 10 touchdowns in seven games this season.
