Eden Hazard has scored his second goal of the match against Everton to give Chelsea a 4-0 lead.
Eden Hazard is one of the most gifted players in the world, and after apparently deciding to take year-long mental vacation last season, is back with a vengeance. He’s been in scintillating form so far this season, and he doesn’t look like slowing down any time soon.
After opening the scoring for Chelsea in the first half, Hazard got his second of the game after another brilliant solo run.
That was Hazard’s seventh goal of the season, and he looks like he could comfortably surpass the 14 he scored in 2014-15, when he won the Player of the Year award. It’s a long season of course, and not every team will be as accommodating as Everton have been today, but even so, there can no longer be any doubt about the immense quality Hazard possesses.
Barring a complete collapse in the last half hour against Everton, Chelsea will move a point ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table. Arsenal and Liverpool could both overtake them tomorrow, but Antonio Conte’s side have to be feeling good about their chances of challenging for the title.
Chelsea have back-to-back matches coming up against Tottenham and Manchester City, which should give us a clearer picture of how good they really are, but they’ve been playing as well as anyone in the league over the last month.

The Toffees should still be confident of finishing in the top eight and qualifying for the Europa League, but if they ever want to join the league’s truly elite, they’ll need to start winning more of these matches.
