Miami has been in a major slump over the past month. The Hurricanes have lose four straight games after starting the season 4-0 and ranked No. 10, Miami has gone from national title contender to a bottom-dweller in the ACC.
Brad Kaaya might be one of the best quarterbacks in the conference, but he has struggled to lead the Hurricanes out of this slump. He has passed for 1,984 yards with 13 touchdowns and Ahmmon Richards and Stacy Coley have been his favorite targets. They have combined for 921 yards and seven touchdowns with 59 receptions.
The run game has been mediocre for the Hurricanes but it’s serviceable behind the strong attack of Mark Walton and Joseph Yearby. Walton leads the way with 649 yards and nine touchdowns while Yearby has 494 yards and six scores.
Pittsburgh has posted a 5-3 record through six games and Pat Narduzzi is turning the program around, slowly but surely. The Panthers might not have a chance to win the ACC, but are competitive and can still make some noise throughout the rest of the season.
James Conner is one of the feel-good stories of college football this season as he is now cancer-free and leads the Panthers in rushing. He has rushed for 672 yards and 10 touchdowns while Quadree Henderson is second on the team and averages 9.3 yards per touch.
Nathan Peterman has been a consistent passer, but nothing extraordinary. He has passed for 1,519 yards and 12 touchdowns with only three picks and a 62 percent completion rate. Jester Weah has been his favorite target and Scott Orndoff a close second.
