Here’s how you can watch Saturday afternoon’s Northwestern vs Wisconsin game from Champaign online.
Wisconsin is the highest-ranked two-loss team in college football, which no one would have guessed would happen at this point in the season. The Badgers were unranked to begin the year but they’ve beaten top-10 foes such as LSU, Michigan State and Nebraska.
The Badgers are relying on a freshman quarterback this season, which might ultimately do them in. Alex Hornibrook started off looking solid against the Spartans, but has since been pedestrian. He has passed for just 948 yards and six touchdowns with seven picks.
Corey Clement was expected to be the team’s top running back this season and he has been just that, but he hasn’t broken out to the extend people expected. He has 699 yards and six touchdowns while Dare Ogunbowale has been more effective with 5.3 yards per touch.
Northwestern may have began the season 0-2 with losses against Western Michigan and Illinois State at home, but the Wildcats have since rebounded to post a 4-4 record. They have beaten teams like Michigan State and Iowa and Northwestern nearly upset Ohio State last week.
Clayton Thorson has had the exact opposite type of season compared to Hornibrook. In fact, the sophomore quarterback got off to a mediocre start, but has since looked like a top quarterback in the conference. He has passed for 1,942 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. Austin Carr has been his favorite target and a Big Ten Receiver of the Year candidate.
Justin Jackson has been one of the Big Ten’s top running backs as well, adding another element to the offense. He leads the team with 868 yards and six touchdowns on 4.6 yards per touch.
