Ohio State got off to a blazing start against Nebraska with a crucial pick-six from safety Damon Webb.
No. 6 Ohio State is looking to stay in the national championship hunt with a home win over No. 10 Nebraska. Their Saturday is looking optimistic so far, as they currently hold a 14-3 lead in the first quarter. The Buckeyes immediately drew first blood against the Cornhuskers with an interception return touchdown. Safety Damon Webb returned it 36 yards to the house after recovering a ball that was tipped in the air.
Quarterback J.T. Barrett will look to give Ohio State all the points they can get. He has performed solidly so far, as he extended the Buckeyes’ lead with a touchdown pass. It remains to be seen how well the Buckeyes offense can perform against a top-10 Nebraska team. Barrett continues to be an effective quarterback for the Buckeyes under the tutelage of Urban Meyer, though.
Ohio State has endured a rough past couple of weeks with an upset loss to Penn State. The Buckeyes blew a 21-7 lead against the Nittany Lions and suffered their first loss of the season. The Buckeyes recovered with a win the following week, but it was an ugly effort against a mediocre Northwestern team.
Like the Buckeyes, the Cornhuskers are looking to contend for the Big Ten title with a 7-1 record. They endured their sole loss in a close matchup against No. 8 Wisconsin, further showing the depth of the Big Ten. A loss to the Buckeyes would almost certainly crush their College Football Playoff hopes.

However, the Cornhuskers are in contention to reach the Big Ten Championship since they play in a different division than Ohio State and Michigan. They would have to hold off Wisconsin though since the Badgers already beat them.
The Buckeyes would certainly make the College Football Playoff if they defeat Michigan and win the Big Ten title.
