Indiana Pacers forward Paul George kicked a ball into the stands out of frustration and it went right into the face of a fan
For the most part, things were going well for the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. As they welcomed the Chicago Bulls to Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Paul George and company were really laying it to the visiting Bulls. Indiana led by 20 points near the end of the fourth quarter. However, that didn’t stop George from getting quite frustrated on one defensive play. Both he and a fan sitting baseline probably wish he’d kept his cool.
Jimmy Butler tried to drive to the rim with George guarding him. When the Chicago guard went to put up a shot at the rim, PG-13 made a play for the ball. Upon replay, it looked like he got mostly ball—and the Pacers forward thought so too. The officials saw it differently, though, and called a foul on George.
None too pleased about the call, the ball started coming to a rest in front of Paul George. In his frustration with the call, he kicked the ball into the baseline stands. As if that wasn’t bad enough, his kick sent the ball flying right into the face of a fan:
As you’d expect, George was ejected for kicking the ball—not that it mattered given the Pacers lead at that point. Still, that’s not something the Pacers want to see from their star player.

Hopefully the fan is fine after this play as well; taking a basketball to the head doesn’t exactly feel good. At least George went into the crowd to apologize (it appears) after he realized what he’d done, though. Next time, however, it’s probably best for his own interests and the faces of fans that he just leaves his soccer skills in the bag.
