A look at how to watch Saturday afternoon’s game between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Texas Longhorns.

On Saturday afternoon, Texas will head to Lubbock to face Texas Tech in a Big 12 conference matchup. Both teams are coming into this one at 4-4 with a 2-3 conference record, so neither are going in a positive direction, but could gain momentum and traction toward a bowl game.

Texas head coach Charlie Strong’s job security has been hanging by a thread for weeks. After starting 2-0, the Longhorns lost three consecutive games, causing more doubt than ever place on his status. However, beating No. 8 Baylor postponed the talk for one week. A loss will only restart it, though.

Against Baylor, Texas quarterback Shane Buechele had a strong game with 291 yards and two touchdowns. However, the running game, more specifically, D’Onta Freeman, stole the show. He had 250 yards on 32 carries for two touchdowns. He has hit triple-digit yards in every game of the season and has been a bright spot for this school.

As for Texas Tech, they have had a middling 2016 season as well. They started 3-1, but lost three of their next four games. This includes a blowout loss to West Virginia and quarterback Patrick Mahomes putting up record numbers against Oklahoma.

In their most recent game, the Red Raiders narrowly edged TCU, 27-24. Mahomes didn’t quite have his 80-plus pass attempts again, but he had three total touchdowns in the win.
