Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong has had quite an eventful Saturday night in Columbus. He just returned to Ohio Stadium in street clothes after a trip to the hospital.
Tommy Armstrong took a nasty fall on a sideline hit against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night. Armstrong’s head hit the turf so hard that it knocked him unconscious for a brief period of time.
He was carted off to an ambulance and then to a nearby hospital for more observation with his father in the ambulance as well, but was moving all his extremities and talking on the way there, according to the official statement from Nebraska.
Believe it or not, Armstrong and his father didn’t stay at the hospital long.

Yes, that’s Tommy Armstrong returning to Ohio Stadium in street clothes.
Don’t believe it? Here’s video proof of Armstrong’s return to the stadium.
For Armstrong to be back so quickly after being taken away in stretcher is nothing short of amazing and a great sign that he’s going to be just fine, which is awesome to see. It was a scary scene after Armstrong hit his head, so to see him back and walking around is a great sign.
Despite Nebraska getting absolutely crushed by Ohio State by 52 points (with the game still going on), they can feel better knowing that their starting senior quarterback is going to be OK moving forward. He’s the heart and soul of the Cornhusker offense and a folk hero in the Lincoln area during his four years with the Big Red.

There’s no official update on what Armstrong’s status is heading into next week and beyond, but he’s walking around and he returned to the game as a spectactor. That’s good enough for the current juncture.
