Here’s how to watch Saturday’s ACC matchup between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Virginia Cavaliers.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will try to reach bowl-eligible status when they host the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon at BB&T Field.
Third-year head coach Dave Clawson has Wake Forest sitting at 5-3 to match its highest win total since 2012. The Demon Deacons have lost three of four since earning a solid nonconference road win against Indiana, although they did play Florida State tough on October 15.
Wake Forest’s success stems from a stingy defense that is allowing just 18.2 points per game to rank 15th in the FBS. Redshirt freshman cornerback Jessie Bates is a rising young star with four interceptions, while Duke Ejiofor has racked up 7.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss to anchor the defensive line. The offense has been a different story, as Wake Forest is putting up just 20.6 points per contest.

Bronco Mendenhall has a lot of work to do, as his tenure at Virginia is off to a 2-6 start. The Cavaliers came close to earning a signature upset over Louisville last Saturday before Lamar Jackson worked some magic in the dying seconds of a 32-25 loss.
Virginia does have some talent left over from Mike London’s recruiting classes and is coming along slowly on the offensive end. East Carolina quarterback transfer Kurt Benkert has shown flashes of ability with nearly 2,100 yards and 17 touchdowns to nine interceptions. The Cavaliers have one of the worst scoring defenses in the FBS but were able to take away a few positives from the loss to the Cardinals.
