West Ham play Stoke at the London Stadium on Saturday in a game between two of the Premier League’s under performers. Perhaps surprisingly both of these sides had torrid starts to their respective seasons. Those poor starts makes this a bottom half of the table clash with West Ham currently sitting just above the relegation zone. Of course neither of these sides will go down this year but the need for points is greater than usual.
West Ham were on a good run of form until they visited Everton last week. The Hammers lost 2-0 on Merseyside in a game where they failed to take some good chances. Stoke are one of the Premier League’s form teams right now with eleven points from their last five games, three of which were victories. The Potters tore Swansea apart on Monday night and they should not be phased by playing at the London Stadium.
Slaven Bilic’s side have struggled at their new ground having lost to both Watford and Southampton there already. They also needed a very late winner from Winston Reid to take them past Sunderland. All of this should make for an interesting match between two teams full of attacking talent.

West Ham are without Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll whilst Winston Reid is banned after picking up too many bookings.
Stoke’s Marko Arnautovic is also banned for picking up too many yellows and Geoff Cameron is out with a knee injury. The Potters could also be without their talisman Xherdan Shaqiri who is a doubt.
